At JoshyBoyLegacy CIC, we know that behind every child with additional needs is a parent or carer who is often carrying more than most people will ever see.
That is why we were delighted to host our Wellness, Brunch & Bubbles Event, welcoming 15 incredible mothers of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) for a well-deserved day of relaxation, connection, and self-care.
For many of the mothers in attendance, taking time for themselves is something that rarely happens. Their days are often filled with appointments, advocacy, caring responsibilities, school meetings, hospital visits, and the emotional demands that come with supporting a child with additional needs. This event was designed to remind them that their wellbeing matters too.
The day began with an opportunity for mothers to unwind, connect with one another, and step away from the pressures of everyday life. Through meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and moments of laughter, it quickly became clear that the room was filled with women who understood one another’s journeys without needing lengthy explanations.
Guests enjoyed a delicious brunch, refreshments, and a welcoming environment where they could simply be themselves. Throughout the event, mothers had the opportunity to build new friendships, strengthen existing connections, and gain encouragement from others walking similar paths.
One of the most powerful aspects of the day was seeing mothers leave feeling lighter, refreshed, and reminded that they are not alone. Community matters, and events like these create the safe spaces where genuine support and lasting relationships can grow.

This event may have ended, but it is only the beginning. We are excited to announce that Wellness, Brunch & Bubbles will be returning, and we look forward to welcoming even more SEND parents and carers in the future.
